I’m Marem Hassler-

I’m a therapeutic Face Coach.

you might know me as an actress (No, no Oscar yet) and a filmmaker (shooting and directing her first feature) and YES- THE FACE YOGA CHICK -Who is fierce about getting you to feel good:)))

Working in the entertainment industry (I commute between London and Los Angeles), the one thing I’ve always loved, be it in-front or behind the camera, are the people I get to meet. Especially the women.

They are formidable, talented, funny, deep, generous, fierce, emotional, multifaceted- like the most precious stones.

At some point, a small cluster would form and the topics would invariably go to: how they felt, what made them feel beautiful, seen, good in their skin. Tips and tricks passed down the family, Instagrams of dermatologists and surgeons. E-mails of Tantric Teachers and Shrinks. If there is one observation- women become more adventurous with age. Fierce!!

Yet, we also deal with insecurities- the pressure of aging and all that comes with it. Not just in the entertainment industry. It can feel overwhelming at times.

I’m a therapeutic Face coach-certified Face Yoga Teacher, Licensed Hypnotherapist (RTT) and certified Life coach. All these elements combined allow me to approach the face of my clients in a unique way. We analyze, relax and strengthen via face yoga- we change persistent habits with hypnotherapy and we integrate it all through life coaching. I hav learned that the face is a mind body feeling projector- so how we feel definitely shows up in our face. Learning self love doesn’t always come easy for people but this whole mind body feeling approach allows for beautiful results that go beyond skin deep.

In particular I love to work with actors as the possibilities surpass the maintenance and relaxing of the facial muscles but allowing for character work to be solidified with deliberate face muscles usage.

I’m passionate about bringing these easy techniques back to my community in the entertainment industry but also beyond, and empower the women (and men) in it.

Face Yoga is about measurably reversing and preventing signs of aging BUT- it’s so much more. It’s a journey of self realization, self love and empowerment.

It would be my honor to share that ride with you.

Love

Marem- your Face Yoga Chick.

Behind the camera…

I’m known for my resting bitch face. I’m really just super focused in those moments- But I wasn’t aware of the tension in my muscles and how it read. Crew members would ask if I was Okay- Not what you want, when you are leading the ship:)))

Now I slay with greater ease and love how that feels.

As an actor…

my face is where my emotions play. It’s part of my instrument. Yet many actors deal with involuntary forehead and mouth tension. With men this is often read as being “deeply intense”. With women we usually get a note from the director if we could wrinkle less lol!! When a casting director suggested I should try Botox for my “animated face”- I did. I can count the times on one hand before I knew I wanted something else. To be able to totally relax my face with face yoga and see what emerges through the character I’m playing, is just so much fun. Remember how Jim Carey was able to seemingly change his features in the MASK because he had such control over his face muscles? Epic!
