Get your Glow on “Splashing”

One of the first thing I was taught by my face yoga mentor, was that skin care needn’t be expensive, complicated or elusive (In fact you can create your own- keep your eyes out for that post:))) - But it does form an essential part of what can make you feel good and special. I remember growing up watching my mum pamper herself oscillating between Cleopatra and Josephine Baker. I loved watching her and when I finally found myself with cucumber slices on my forehead and some kind of mud on the face- I was ready to roar and let the world know- I HAD ARRIVED- I was an exquisite being in the making. A woman :))

Self-care really directly translates into self- love and there is an estimated US$170 Billion dollar industry that banks on it- annually. But let’s be real, Sephora might be the mothership - sometimes time, money or availability can set your course to a different galaxy. I often go to CVS, (for my English reader that would be Boots:)-Heck, even the the dollar store can serve to find some great beauty hacks and have your back when you feel that retail therapy tickle.

I love living in Los Angeles and London. Women from all over the world and all ages, showcase their beauty hacks and family secrets proudly on their skin. Isn’t one of the best compliment, when a woman comes up to you and compliments your skin, your choice of red lipstick or just the way you smile- that has her smiling too? I make it a habit to ask them fierce ladies what their mothers taught them and what they have discovered on their own.

So let me share with you a true game changer from my Mentor Fumiko. It dramatically changes the quality of your skin AND- 1-It is simple, 2-you’ve got it already in your house and 3-it doesn’t cost a thing. Let’s go!!!

100 Face Splash

First thing in the morning splash your face 100 times with lukewarm water in an up ward motion. Keep your face somewhat parallel to the basin/bowl or sink and continuously splash 100 times. I don’t use soap in the morning only water.

AND -the count is not negotiable. You want the glow don’t aim low. It’s not 25 or 78 or 99. Make it a full 100 :))

I like to keep the water in a bowl and re-purpose the water for my plants, or you can do it under running water- your choice.

Benefits:

~Deep cleans and shrinks your pores.

~Lightens your Complexion.

~Reduces acne, blackheads and whiteheads.

~Promotes better circulation

Do not:

~Use hot water, it dries out your skin, which can cause wrinkles.

~Rub your face with your hands or fingers while doing this technique.

~Splash the water in a downward motion. Make sure to splash in an upward motion.

Put some extra fierceness into it:

Do your last 20 splashes with very cold water- this will close the pores.

Happy splashing!!!

Love Marem
